Better Collective recently strengthened its position in Sweden through the strategic acquisition of four flagship sports media brands SvenskaFans.com, Fotbolldirekt.se, Hockeysverige.se and Innebandymagazinet.se. The sites produce daily high-quality sports content and have a combined reach of over nine million monthly visits from dedicated Swedish sports enthusiasts.

We are an expanding collective with more than 1300 dedicated and talented employees and our offices are based right in the hearts of Copenhagen, Paris, Vienna, Nis, Stoke-on-Trent, NYC, Lodz, Nashville, New York, Fort Lauderdale, London, Krakow and Thessaloniki.


About SvenskaFans
SvenskaFans is Sweden’s biggest online sports-fan community. The brand was founded in 2000 and covers everything from top-tier football and ice hockey to local leagues across

Sweden. Over the past 23 years the sports media brand has grown a large loyal following

through user generated content such as game reports, interviews, chronicles and podcasts, with currently over 900 active contributors, and a popular YouTube channel, FanTV. The website has around half a million unique visitors per month.

The role
Your focus will be producing and packaging high quality editorial sports content (written, audio and visual) for SvenskaFans.com, its social media platforms and any media partners. You will also be responsible for communication with our volunteer writers/content contributors and keep track of their engagement, meet and address their needs and build and maintain strong relationships with our community. You will be monitoring our forums, providing quality content for upcoming sports events, researching, planning and carrying out interviews and features as well as contributing to and improving the quality and optimisation of content across the entire site. Working from our new office in Stockholm, (with a flexible work from home policy), you will become part of a highly skilled and dedicated team, focused on the broad field of sports industry within the exciting Swedish and European market.

As our editor you will

  • Produce and package daily editorial sports content

  • Support, encourage and manage the content provided by the volunteer writers

  • Produce/package content with consideration to both its marketability via social media and email campaigns as well as its adaptability to video and audio platforms

  • Participate in video and audio media production and become a face in the SvenskaFans - community

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of SvenskaFans content and be the one that the community can turn to for for feedback and guidance

  • Feel motivated to be working evenings/weekends

  • Create briefs and support in-house and external writers in creating content

  • Manage and plan content calendar to ensure we nail the biggest sporting events and happenings

  • Drive the highest editorial standards in the content we create and the content we package

  • Keep up to date with the latest news in the world of football and the sports industry in general

  • Create new content based on business and market priorities


BC wide collaboration

  • Participation in broadcasting projects, both video and audio
  • Participation in PR projects including interviewing sports personalities

  • Liaise with Commercial teams in order to get the most out of the content produced

  • Participate in BC wide meetings concerning the development and direction of the media and editorial section

  • Editing and preparing freelance content for the


Our ideal candidate

  • Has experience of creating editorial sports content, written, audio and visual

  • Has a keen instinct and talent for discovering or identifying interesting and relevant sports content or information recognizing what is newsworthy

  • Has knowledge of Swedish and European sports and of sports in general

  • Has experience in creating features/chronicles/articles/briefs and supporting writers to create such content

  • Is passionate about producing great content that delivers on its objectives

  • Is proactive and passionate about reaching goals

  • Has a journalist experience and is used to working with digital platforms, packaging, providing and addressing written, audio and visual content on all platforms
