Do you know PHP and could you see yourselves working on our big brand sites? On goal.pl? or betarades.gr? or wettfreunde.net? or wettbasis.com? or another site we’ve built on an award-winning company?

THE ROLE

We seek an experienced PHP Developer that knows around the WordPress ecosystem in creating custom solutions. You will be coding across our vast portfolio of websites and this in collaboration with other skilled developers, QA, designers, SEO managers, site / project managers etc.

We take pride in making customized inhouse solutions and rely mainly on our developers' technical skills to create unique products in the iGaming business. We do not rely on third-party products, such as page builders or Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), as we build our solutions natively as much as possible, to build our sites.

We would require your knowledge as a skilled developer and not your knowledge in third party public plugins to create WordPress sites. You, preferably, have experience in creating custom themes / plugins.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The tasks vary from site to site and from time to time. It can be projects based on business needs, e.g. “Revamps” where a site is remodeled or upgraded to match current trends / web standards / performance requirements or migrating different websites to WordPress. 

It can also be implementations of site-specific features or implement data-proven CRO findings. Or work on our 30+ custom plugins. Or work on our next-level theme. Or on the new blocks / components API.

In any way, you get to contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.

  • Extending and/or creating custom code solutions for WordPress.

  • Collaborating with project managers to formulate the best technical implementations to meet business goals.

  • Collaborate and review code to ensure a high quality of coding best practices and standards.

  • Write well designed, testable, efficient and performant code.

  • Assist and support in the upkeep and maintenance of web sites. Make sure our technical stack is up-to-date and is able to scale with the various solutions made inhouse.

  • Ability to integrate data from various backend systems.

  • Coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according  to provided specifications.

  • Provide, as well maintain documentation to our products and adopt a culture of sharing knowledge among the team members.

  • Participating in continuing education and training to be attentive of current trends and standards that can be applied to our products and services.

  • Assume ownership of code throughout development, staging, testing and production.

Job requirements

  • Education in Web development or related field, or relevant experience is preferred. 

  • Proficient in advanced PHP for custom WordPress development.

  • Proficient use of front-end technologies including JavaScript / ES6, CSS/SASS.

  • Experience with modern development tools and methods such as version control, composer, BEM, git, task runners (npm, grunt, webpack), CSS preprocessors (sass).

  • Strong knowledge of MySQL and WordPress database architecture.

  • Strong knowledge in OOP and design patterns.

  • Knowledge of APIs, Authentication, and integrating with 3rd party services

  • The ability to see the big picture and identify business goals and objectives to translate through better code architecture and UI/UX to accomplish client goals.

  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of English language.

Apart from that, it would be a plus, but not a requirement, if you know

  • Gutenberg blocks development / ReactJS.

  • Unit testing.

  • Scrum
