Lead Data Engineer

    • Copenhagen

Job description

Are you passionate about building solid data foundations — and ready to grow into a leadership role?
We’re looking for a
Lead Data Engineer who not only wants to build reliable and scalable core data infrastructure, but also is energized by development, setting direction and leading others to success. This is a great opportunity if you are ready to take the next step in your career and grow into leading your own team.

In this role, you’ll take the technical lead on our data platform — and be a driving force in how we organize, collaborate, and deliver value to the business. You’ll work closely with a strong team of data professionals and collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Affiliate, and Subscription, ensuring they have trustworthy data to make informed decisions.

If you're motivated by making the group work, setting priorities that serve the business, and shaping how the team evolves, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Innovation is a big part of our culture, so expect to play a key role in shaping the future of our data platform and experimenting with new technologies. We hope you’ll feel right at home here.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our data pipelines and core infrastructure

  • Design and manage secure, scalable, and well-documented cloud data infrastructure

  • Collaborate with analysts and business teams to understand and meet data needs

  • Set and improve engineering standards, including version control, testing, and monitoring

  • Drive platform-wide improvements that support machine learning and advanced analytics

  • Mentor and guide other data engineers — with a clear path to future team leadership

  • Contribute to strategic planning of our data architecture and priorities, including support machine learning

Job requirements

  • Strong experience with cloud data tools (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, or similar)

  • You’re comfortable writing SQL and Python and have built production ready data pipelines

  • You’ve used tools like dbt, Dagster, or similar for data modeling and orchestration

  • You understand how to build scalable systems and think about performance and reliability

  • You’re structured, hands-on, and enjoy working with others to solve problems

  • Experience with machine learning pipelines is a nice bonus, but not required

  • Strong communication and people skills (no expectations of prior leadership experience)

Not sure you meet every single requirement?

That’s okay—your unique experience might be exactly what we’re looking for. We are looking for someone who can step into a leadership role, in the nearest future, and we will provide guidance and training to set you up for success in your, potentially, first leadership role.

Your colleagues say you

  • Take ownership and follow through - especially when things get tricky

  • Break down complex systems into simple, understandable parts

  • Are both practical and thoughtful when solving technical challenges

  • Are someone they can count on for technical advice - and enjoy building with
