You are...

The Director, Sports Media – North America, responsible for the performance and strategic direction of Better Collective’s media properties in the region, including Yardbarker, The Nation Network (TNN), Bolavip USA, and World Soccer Talk. You will own the regional P&L, oversee a team of product and editorial leads, and plays a central role in aligning commercial, content, and product strategy.

The ideal candidate is an experienced digital media executive with a strong background in publishing, audience development, and business operations. You will report directly to the VP Global of Sports Media and be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, participating in monthly meetings and quarterly business reviews.

You will...

  • Own the P&L management of five key brands and the consolidated financial performance of the North American media business.

  • Lead a team of direct reports, including product owners and editorial leads, ensuring alignment with strategic and commercial objectives.

  • Drive growth across key KPIs, including media revenue, EBITDA, affiliation revenue, audience reach, pageviews, and engagement metrics.

  • Shape and execute a regional strategy focused on operational efficiency, brand expansion, and commercial readiness for major events like the FIFA World Cup 2026.

  • Collaborate closely with the North American commercial team to support and close media agency deals, brand partnerships, and sponsorships—particularly within sports betting and general market advertising.

  • Work with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Marfeel Compass) to monitor audience behavior and performance trends across all brands.

  • Align with global product, tech, and editorial teams to ensure consistency, best practices, and shared vendor usage across the division.

Job requirements

You have...

  • 5+ years of experience in digital media, ideally in online publishing, editorial operations, or content-driven business models.

  • Proven track record in P&L management, business leadership, and driving revenue growth.

  • Strong understanding of audience development, SEO, content monetization, and media operations.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, editorial, and product/tech teams.

  • Comfortable analyzing data and KPIs to make informed decisions and guide strategic initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Based in Toronto, Canada and available to work from the office as needed.

  • Familiarity with analytics and performance tools such as Google Analytics, Marfeel Compass, or similar.
