We’re looking for a Design Team Lead (Graphic & Motion) to lead and elevate our visual storytelling across brands, platforms, and formats at The Nation Network. This is a key leadership role for a creative professional who combines strong design craft with people leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on mindset.

You’ll be responsible for shaping the visual direction of our content, supporting brand consistency, and helping a growing design team deliver high-impact creative work at scale.

You’re a creative leader who loves both designing and leading. You’re comfortable giving direction, mentoring designers, and setting standards, but you’re also happy jumping into the work when needed.

You thrive in fast-paced, content-driven environments and understand how design supports storytelling, engagement, and performance across digital and social platforms. You enjoy collaborating closely with editorial, social, marketing, and product teams to bring ideas to life.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Here’s how you’ll contribute to our mission:

  • Lead and manage a team of graphic and motion designers, supporting their growth and development.

  • Define and evolve visual guidelines to ensure brand consistency across multiple platforms and brands.

  • Oversee the creation of graphic and motion assets for editorial, social media, marketing, and product initiatives.

  • Balance hands-on design work with team leadership and project oversight.

  • Partner closely with Editorial, Social, Marketing, and Growth teams to translate ideas into compelling visual executions.

  • Help scale design processes and workflows to support high-volume content production.

  • Ensure creative quality while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving media environment.

The Ideal Profile: Is This You?

You’ll likely succeed in this role if you bring:

  • Solid experience in graphic design, with a strong motion design component.

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring designers (formal people management experience is a plus).

  • A strong portfolio showcasing both graphic and motion work across digital platforms.

  • Experience working in digital media, content, marketing, or similarly fast-paced environments.

  • Strong understanding of design for social media, video, and digital storytelling.

  • Ability to give clear creative direction and constructive feedback.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Comfort managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working with media, sports, or entertainment brands.

  • Familiarity with performance-driven creative (social, growth, engagement metrics).

  • Experience scaling design systems or workflows.

  • Comfort working with distributed or remote teams.

Meet Your Manager & Team

You’ll be part of a broader creative and content organization, working closely with cross-functional partners across Editorial, Social, Marketing, and Product.

You’ll report to Amil Delic, Head of Original Content & Production Audio/Video and lead a group of designers, with the opportunity to shape how design supports our brands at scale.
