Job description

We are looking for a talented generalist Senior Legal Counsel to assist on strategically important assignments, including M&A transactions, corporate law, IP law and complex agreements. The ideal candidate will be a commercially aware generalist lawyer with excellent drafting skills, solid legal knowledge, a solution-oriented attitude, and preferably prior M&A and/or IP law experience. You will join a team of 6 other corporate lawyers and be a key member of our Corporate Legal team having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.


About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel in Better Collective, you will be part of a talented, skilled and very ambitious team in a truly international environment. You will be working on a wide variety of tasks, including company law matters, contracts, IP matters, disputes, providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders across the organization, and take part in M&A activity and other legal projects. You will provide expert legal advice and guidance, balancing commercial goals with legal and risk factors.


Your main responsibilities

  • Drive the contract lifecycle from negotiation through to contract execution
  • Support the company’s M&A activity, from due diligence through to integration
  • Work in close collaboration with internal business partners and provide actionable advice
  • Provide support to more junior members of the team
  • Manage legal disputes and handle external counsel
  • Provide support to the business on other legal matters on an as-needed basis

Job requirements

Who you are

  • +5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house with an IT or media company
  • A generalist profile with experience in commercial and/or corporate law, preferably with prior M&A and/or IP law experience
  • Strong legal drafting skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Fluency in English with impeccable writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a service minded attitude to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and business partners
  • An ability to translate complex legal concepts into simple language and clear action plans
  • Strong relationship building skills, client-orientation, and commitment to high quality results
  • An eye for accuracy and a high attention to detail
  • The ability to adapt and an eagerness to learn
